Fort Wayne Seminary President Lawrence Rast shares God’s promises on our May 19 Worship Anew program.
Before to coming to the Seminary in 1996 as a professor, he served as a pastor at Ascension Lutheran Church in Madison, Tenn.
For the past 13 years, Rev. Dr. Rast has served as the president of the Concordia Theological Seminary-Fort Wayne. This year, following his time on Worship Anew, he will retire.
Rast is one of two guest pastors on the Worship Anew program this year, and he has the honor of speaking on Pentecost.
In his May 19 message, Rast shares of the promise that God gives when he sent his Holy Spirit on the Day of Pentecost in the Book of Acts.
“I will send you the gift of the Holy Spirit,” Rast says during his message on Worship Anew. “He said ‘I will,’ and he did. He says to us today, ‘I will,’ and he does. Our God keeps his promises.”
“Jesus kept his promise to stay with them always by clothing them with the gift that would always be with them—the gift of the Holy Spirit—and that is what we celebrate today,” he says in his message. “Jesus keeps his promises, and on Pentecost Sunday, we see him do just that.”
Don’t miss the Pentecost Sunday program on May 19. The program is available through streaming on Roku and Apple TV, on local broadcasts, and online at WorshipAnew.org.
