How do you choose the pastors who lead “Worship Anew”?
All of our pastors are ordained in The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS), and each is invited into the rotation because of his gift for preaching the Gospel clearly and warmly to viewers at home. When a spot opens, our team looks for a pastor — often from the Fort Wayne area (where our studio is located), along with trusted guest pastors — who can preach directly to the camera in a way that comforts and encourages you.
Why does the program have six pastors instead of just one?
Our recording days on Tuesdays fit three pastors at a time, so two alternating groups of three keep production running smoothly across the year. Six also strikes the right balance for you at home enough variety to enjoy different voices and preaching styles, but few enough that each pastor is on often enough to become a familiar, trusted face. Add many more, and no single pastor would preach frequently enough to build that relationship with you.
From what faith tradition do your pastors preach?
Our pastors all preach from the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) tradition, which means every sermon is centered on Jesus Christ and grounded in God’s Word. Whatever the season, the aim is always the same: to proclaim both God’s Law and His Gospel, so that you hear His truth and, above all, His mercy for you in Christ.
My eyesight isn’t what it used to be. Can I still follow the program just by listening?
Yes, absolutely. If you’d like to listen to a version of our program that’s specifically designed for audio only, call our office line at (888) 286-8002 and press “3” to hear the latest “Worship Anew” program, any time day or night. You can also dial “2” to hear that day’s Hope-Full Living devotion or dial “4” to hear a selection of hymns from our choirs. You can also open the Worship Anew app on a phone or tablet, start a program, and let the audio play right on your device.
