15 Minute Beef Bulgogi
1 lb. ground beef
2 tsp. vegetable oil
1⁄4 cup brown sugar
1⁄4 cup soy sauce
1 tsp. ginger (fresh or ground)
2 tsp. red pepper flakes (to taste)
Splash rice wine vinegar
1 tsp. sesame oil
1 tbsp. minced garlic (or as much as your heart desires)
1 bunch green onions – chopped, separate the white and green parts
Mix together brown sugar, soy sauce, ginger, rice wine vinegar, red pepper flakes and sesame oil in a small bowl or measuring cup. Brown ground beef in vegetable oil until cooked through. Add garlic after the beef is cooked. Continue stirring so the garlic doesn’t burn. Drain any excess grease. After a minute or two, add the white parts of your green onion and your sauce. The sauce will thicken after a few minutes, then you’re ready to serve. Serve over rice and garnish with the green parts of the green onion and sesame seeds. Serves 2 people with enough for leftovers.
