The Big Game is coming up on Feb. 9, and we want you to be ready with fun food and activities. It’s easy to celebrate your favorite team (or just enjoy the commercials). We have put together recipes, a Bingo game, and fun décor for your event. Enjoy!
Football Cheeseball
Ingredients:
16 ounces of Cream Cheese (softened)
1⁄2 teaspoon Garlic Salt (optional)
1 teaspoon Hot Sauce (optional)
2 teaspoons Worcestershire Sauce
1 ounce Ranch Seasoning 1 packet (or half packet)
2 cups shredded Cheddar Cheese (or your preferred cheese)
3 Green Onions chopped (optional)
1 cup Bacon divided (separated into half cups)
1/3 cup Chopped Pecans
Provolone or Mozzarella Cheese (for football stripes)
Directions:
- Mix the cream cheese, garlic salt, hot sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and ranch seasoning packet together in a medium bowl.
- Combine the shredded cheese, one-half cup of the bacon, and the green onions.
- Cover the mixture with plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for one hour.
- Once chilled, using the same plastic wrap, put all of the mixture into the plastic wrap and shape into a ball, flatten using the bottom of a serving plate, and shape into a football shape. Chill for another 30 minutes or so.
- Mix the remaining bacon with the pecans.
- Remove the plastic wrap from the shaped cheeseball, return to the serving plate, and coat the entire cheeseball with the bacon and pecan mixture. Add provolone for detail.
- Chill and serve with crackers or pretzels.
Bingo
Get the family together for a fun game of Bingo during the Big Game. Use the Bingo cards found here (adapted from TeamColorsByCarrie.com), and create Bingo markers by using small items corresponding to the current teams’ colors (M&Ms, construction paper, etc.). Throughout the game, fill out your board by what happens in the game. The first one with a straight line wins!
Other Supplies
- Bake or buy cupcakes with your favorite flavor, and have fun decorating them with frosting to match the teams in the game.
- Football mints, tablecloths or runners, and napkins can be found in many local and online stores, including Walmart, Target, Amazon, Party City, and more.
