Worship Anew Cross

Since 2010, the media center for Lutheran Ministries Media, the home of Worship Anew, has been located on the campus of Concordia Theological Seminary. Over that time, enhancements have been made in order to further the work of their ongoing mission of sharing Christ’s love through ministry and media.

During recent years, lifelong Lutheran, W. Paul Wolf, suggested a number of enhancements to the property. The front yard's iron railing, which was becoming dilapidated, was updated. Tree trimming was also carried out to enhance the public's view of the Worship Anew building. And most recently, Mr. Wolf suggested a cross on the Worship Anew property.

According to him, the addition of a cross is about furthering the message of Jesus Christ. “When driving onto the Concordia Theological Seminary Fort Wayne campus, one passes the large impressive Martin Luther statue, then on ahead locates the Seminary Chapel with its large cross. Advancing farther, you come to the manicured headquarters of Worship Anew on the impressive CTSFW campus. However, something is amiss. Where various LCMS pastors deliver their weekly sermons via television and the internet around the world, there lacks a CROSS reflecting our Lord and Savior, the Almighty.”

Thanks to the support of the W. Paul Wolf Family, a 17’ cross is being constructed in front of the Worship Anew building to point all visitors and viewers of Worship Anew to Christ. Dedication of the cross will take place Saturday, June 15, from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. The dedication ceremony will be at 3:30 p.m. with a free ice cream social to follow. For more information, please call Worship Anew at (260) 471-5683.

Matthew Leighty, Lutheran Ministries Media executive director, says the new cross will be a great witness to the message of the Gospel. “With this cross as the focal point of the ministry’s media center, it will be a reminder of the death and resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and the resurrection that we will all enjoy some day in the loving arms of our Father in heaven. We’re grateful for the blessed partnership with the Wolf family and for making this symbol of our faith outside the media center a reality.”

Centered on the mission of “sharing Christ's love through ministry and media,” Worship Anew proclaims God’s word in the United States and around the world through the impact of video. The weekly 30-minute program includes scripture readings, a pastor’s message, prayers, and favorite church hymns.
