Just when things are at their worst and you are left with literally nothing in this world, precisely then, “straighten up and raise your heads, because your redemption draws near.” Jesus is near now, in Word and Supper, and soon in visible glory, and with Him there is redemption, forgiveness of sin, and eternal life.
